Labor Day Weekend

Labor day weekend was full of events. Sorry the pic's are all out of order. Friday we went to the carnival. Max and Isaac went on the carousel. We ate hamburgers in the park and found Chad, Jessica and Lexi. Chad and Curtis took Max and Lexi down the big slide. I was talking to Jessica so I forgot to take a picture until they were at the bottom. After all the tickets were gone, we went to Debbie's to watch the fireworks.
Saturday, we ate scones in the park and watched the childrens parade. The parade lasted 5 minutes. We went to the open house a the fire station so max could play in some fire trucks.
We did make it to the Finch Family reunion for a few hours. We enjoyed a meal with Reed, Lori, Bruce, Heather, Paisley and Grandma and Grandpa. Grandpa talked about his family and we all enjoyed being with him. He did give Curtis a shout out from the microphone.
Sunday we had the annual Ryan Dutch oven cook off. Curtis took First place in the Dessert category. This was the last year for voting and prizes. We skipped the band concert because we were too tired to fight the crowds.
Monday we ate breakfast at the park and watched the onion days parade. Max danced when the marching bands passed. He is so cute! We had a BBQ at the Stevens after the parade - Great Hamburgers Jim! We went to visited Grandma and Grandpa Finch again but they were having a nap so we got to visit with My dad, Uncle Bruce and my grandpa's brother David. To end the Holiday Weekend, we stopped in to spend some time with my mom. She and Max played a marble game while Curtis and I took a brake.
I love holiday weekends!
And thank you for all of your suggestions.

Help!

I am in need of a major make over! I feel like I've looked the same since 4th grade. I've felt especially "frumpy" lately. Any Ideas?

Say up with the SHS

Friday night we headed to the Springville high football field. Max loved it!
(until it was past bed time)
We went with Angie, Jerry, Isaac and Grandma and Grandpa Finch.

Springville beat Lehi 40 to 3. It was the fist time I had been back to a game in 10 years. I still knew a hand full of people at the game. We liked it so much, we are making plans to go again.

County Fair

Today we went to the county fair. It is back to Spanish Fork fair grounds. Angie, Jerry, Isaac and Kari came with us.

Max had his first carnival rides. He was excited and nervouse about the Merry-go-round.

He ended up the only kid on the rides. He was really board and hot on the train ride.

He was very interested in the lambs.

We ended up with poop on the wheels of both strollers and seemed a little boring compared to City festivals. We did eat some fair food. We had a chicken sandwich and some hush puppies. All in all, I'm glad we went.

Thanks Monica

USPS dropped off another really great gift! I love it! It is proudly displayed in my front room. This is a gift from my friend Monica. Our friendship has lasted since we were 3 or 4 years old. We lived next door to each other in Spanish Fork while our dads built our homes. After we moved we would still have play dates and eventually we joined 4H together.
Thanks Monica.

Stevens Reunion, Capital Reef

Our wonderful family vacation started a little early for us. We drove to Richfield on Thursday afternoon. Angie and Jerry followed us down and we met up with Jim and Christie. We went to dinner at a cute little cafe and went for a short dip in the pool after. The little boys were not happy about the pool. We all went to bed early. In the morning, we ate at JB's (free with our nights stay). After breakfast, Curtis had some work to do at the local grocery stores. Christie and I took the little boys for a walk and gave Angie some time alone to get ready. Once 10 o'clock hit, I headed to Christensen's. I love that store.
After my shopping spree, we headed to Torry. Christie had packed us a lunch. Kari, Ben, Kevin and Kenton arrived in time to join us for lunch. After, we all went to the pool. Warmer waters and less splashing made Max a happy boy. He love his new floater. After everyone unpacked we spent some time "down town" and met up with everyone later for dinner. Christie is amazing when it comes to travel food. She had packed Taco salad for everyone. Max made friends with a stray cat. I was not a fan.
Saturday, We all got up early to go for a hike. Isaac stayed back with Christie and Kenton to hold down the fort. We headed for capital reef. It was a really nice hike. I remembered how much I love to hike. Then I rolled my ankle ... not the most graceful hiker.
Max took a 3 hour nap after the hike. Being backpacked around can really wear a kid out. We hit the pool again later that day, ate sandwiches at the park for lunch and went to my favorite little spot for home made ice cream.
I shared with Max. We tried Strawberry and Raspberry. So good. I had peach last year and was sad they didn't have it this time. That night, Jim took us all out to a nice dinner. Max slept on me and Angie though all of it. After dinner Curtis and I cruised Torrey (15 minutes). Curtis gathered all of the boys together to check out a race track - only to find out it was a private track with a lot of advertisements. That night we all went out for Ice cream.
Some how, between all of that, I read a 563 page book. We came home Sunday and didn't do anything. A perfect reunion.
