Eskimo

We woke up to a winter wonderland today. We haven't had Max out in the snow this year because he is too little - but we have this great snow suite for him so I dressed him warm and we went out to say Hi to Curtis while he was cleaning off cars and shoveling the drive way. Max really looks like a little Eskimo.

Cracker Barrel

Last night we all went out to dinner with Jeremiah and Angie. We went to the Cracker Barrel - I love the country store. They have such cute ideas and fun candy jars. The vintage wrapped candy is my favorite to look at.
The food was really good too. They give you a lot of food for an affordable price. It's nice to have a place you can go out to eat and not have to pay over $20 for the date.

Stink Bug

I'm sure Max did not like the flash photography while he was trying to sleep but I really wanted to get a picture of him sucking his legs up under his bum. I love it when babies do that. This photo really doesn't do it justice.

Go Texas

I know we have already posted him in this outfit but he and uncle Jerry look so happy ... I had to post it. I know babies are cute and you're going to love them and your family will love them but I wondered if Max would be loved as much as I love my nieces and nephews. He is as big a hit as I could have hoped for. Most places we go he gets swiped - everyone seems to want a turn with him. He too loves all of them. It's so fun to see him react to everyone. He loves to laugh.

To: Dad

Curtis, we missed you today. This week Max has sure been making a lot of noise and laughing. I took this picture for you so you can see your little guy. I can't get him to laugh like you can. We miss you and hope you come home soon. Love you.

Angie's Secret

Angie's going to have a baby at the end of May - That's not the secret. She and Jeremiah found out if the baby is a boy or a girl today. We are so excited for a little cousin for Max. I'll spill the beans once we get the O.K. but I can tell you the baby is in good health

Our Pets

We are currently up to 3 pets. First is Chai, our beloved dog. We've had her since March of 2007. After watching Marley and Me, we love her even more. They share so many traits...they both could be the worst dogs in the world. most recently Chai has been finding dead mice in the back yard and droping them off on the back patio. GROSS!
Meet Pickles and Pizza who are staying with us for a little while. Pickles and Pizza belong to Alivia and Rex. Since they moved to Australia, we are taking care of them. They live in Max's room so they are sure to be noticed daily.

Great Great Grandma Penrod

On January 2, We Made a quick trip to Ephraim Utah. Max met his Great Great Grandma Penrod for the first time. She told him a few of life's lessons and took great joy in how much her family has grown. We love her and learn so much when we are with her. She grew up in Goshen Utah. Her father had a little shop there - She took it over after he retired. There are a few pictures of Curtis, when he was about one or two, sitting on the counter the day the shop closed. Grandma told me about a sign they had that read, "If we don't have it you don't need it". I made sure they sold ice cream just to assure my self it is a necessity.
We love you Grandma.

2008 a look at last year

2009 Brings a lot of hope and excitement for our little family but can it beat out 2008? Last year was, amongst all the years of my life, in my top 5 favorite years of my life. In February Curtis and I found out we were going to have a little baby. We had all the excitement, frustration, and anxiety of a first pregnancy. We had fun outings all summer with family, including our family reunions. Then on October 3rd our little man arrived. We have love sharing Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas with him.
This year we look forward to a few little trips and all the growing Max will do.
