Walk at the lake

We went for a walk around the lake the other day and these are the things we found.

This guy was asleep.

Another Beautiful day at the lake.

Weed

Yes, you are a weed. You can't fool me. Your yellow bloom is beautiful and summer-ish but I know whats going on underneath all of that. You are infecting my lawn and in a few days you will want the wind to blow to spread your seed. You will spread your root deep and strong so no matter how many times I try to pull you out, you will just come back again. So that is why you have to go. Your beauty will only get you so far.

Scottish fest

This past weekend, Payson celebrated with the Scottish Festival. We walked over to the park to check it out. It seems like we do the same thing every year...Walk to the park, notice all the strange things, walk back home.
I decided to post all of the high lights so all of you who think this event sounds like a good idea, can keep thinking that.
This is ginger beer. I tried ginger about 5 years ago. Awful stuff.
I think the biggest disappointment of the festival is that it has some how been morphed to a medieval/gypsies day in the park. I spend most of my time trying to figure out how this following is tied to Scotland, bagpipes, Khyber toss - oh wait...CLAN. That's it.
We did find it funny that the longest line in the park was for Meat pies.

Thanksgiving point

Today we went to the farm at thanksgiving point. We thought it would be a good idea to give Max some exposure to fenced in animals. He had a great time. We weighed him and his stroller to equal 5 new born lbs - the scale is off by 30 lbs. Curtis weighed at much as a goat and a kid. The stroller, provided by thanksgiving point - we forgot ours, had a few mystery stains so we mostly used it to carry the diaper bag.
Child, Prop, Camera...I can't resist.
This is about as "hands on" as we let him get.
Our pass included your choice of a pony ride or a buggy ride. We chose the Buggy and Max made spit bubbles the whole time. It's his new thing.
After a few hot hours in the sun, we went to the water tower plaza for some great treats and air conditioning. Kari and Max found a mirror, Max thinks he's really funny.
Another great outing. Just an FYI, Thanksgiving point will be doing the $2 Tuesdays again starting the first Tuesday in August. This means $2 admission for the gardens and the dinosaur museum (usually $10). I'm sure the farm is $2 too but even on a normal day, it is only $3.50. $2 Tuesday only runs through August so don't miss out.

Baseball take 2

We thought we would try taking Max to another baseball game. This time we went to the Orem Owls. It is such a beautiful view.
Angie and Isaac were nice to join us. I really was not into the baseball as much as I was into Isaac. He is such a handsome baby.
This is one of the only times Max didn't attack Isaac's face.
This is how Max enjoyed the game.
I think Isaac likes baseball.
We ended up leaving the game early to put the boys to bed, but the owl's won the game in the end.
Max loves soda. He will grunt at you until you let him have your drink. Once he has your drink, he's not giving it back. It was cute at first...Now I'm worried about his intake.
What a fun night. Go Owl's!

July 4th weekend

We went up to the Finch cabin right after work on Thursday. We wanted to get an early start on the weekend. Curtis had us all packed and ready to go. I guess we couldn't convince others to join us so for the first night it was just us. We had a great dinner and after Max fell asleep we roasted marshmallows and made smores.
The next morning we headed back to Payson. We needed to pick up some more gas for the generator. After a quick half shower and a trip to the store, we went back up the canyon. My dad joined us for lunch and watched camp while we went on a walk around the lake.
It was a beautiful day at the Lake. We made it around once and then we were all too hot and tired to do it again.
Max fell asleep before we even finished. Curtis wished he could have slept too.
Back at camp we built a fire and played some games. Curt's parents and brothers joined us for dinner. Hot dogs at the cabin are my favorite kind.
After everyone left, we started to get ready for another night alone. This time we were going to put some coal in the furnace to keep us warm all night. I woke up at 11:50 we an awful headache. I woke up Curtis and told him it was time to go home. We packed up and got home by 2. I showered and put on clean pillow cases - it felt so nice to be back at our house, clean and in my bed.
The Fourth was great! Max let us sleep in until 9 (we needed it after the night run home). He seemed happy to be back in his crib. We ate lunch at papa Keslie's and went to Jim and Christie's for a holiday BBQ. After the BBQ Curtis put on a firework show put to patriotic music.
Sunday we had Issac's blessing and the band concert. Max loves to sit in his chair and act big. (Max had his 9mo appointment today. He is 30 inches long and weighs 19.6 lbs.)
We love going to the band concerts and miss having all of my family around to enjoy them with. We especailly miss Grandma and Grandpa Finch. It's not the same without them.
