Say Cheese

Today we give thanks to Anco, Curtis Represents them for his job. They are a cheese company specializing in imported European cheese. It is our luck, this past week, to have a lot of left over cheese bestowed on us. Curtis had to do a few training seminars and they had a bunch of cheese that was not used so they sent it home with Curtis. The Jarlsberg was sent to the training by accident (it retails at $400 and weighs over 25lb) but they told him to keep it. The Brie was extra (it retails at about $100 and is about 10 lb). We've decided we just need to have a really big cheese party. What could possibly be as sophisticated as all of this cheese? Maybe the Oscars? So here is our plan. We will be at home Sunday for the Oscars and You, and a date if you choose, are invited to come over.
Max is ready to pary. Hope to see you there. Julie...I'm sorry to tempt you - maybe we can smuggle some to you when we come to visit.

I don't usually...

My friend posted this on her blog and I couldn't resist so here it is:
The first five people to respond to this post will get something made by me! My choice. For you.
This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:
1. I make no guarantees that you will like what I make!
2. What I create will be just for you.
3. It'll be done this year. (I'll try to get it done soon)
4. You have no clue what it's going to be.
5. I reserve the right to do something extremely strange.
The catch? Oh, the catch is that you must re-post this on your blog and offer the same to the first 5 people who do the same on your blog. The first 5 people to do so, and leave a comment telling me they did, win a FAB-U-LOUS homemade gift by me! *Oh, and be sure to post a picture of what you win when you get it!*

* Update* I have finished my first gift. Jackie, watch for it. Monica, I'm getting started on yours. As for everyone else ... you can still sign up

Presidents Day

I'm not sure how patriotic I'm feeling today. I do love our country but I'm a bit nervous for our future. I feel more like I'm getting robbed rather than bailed out every time our government cuts a check. I've been trying to stay current and know the issues and plans for our country but everything seems so vague or short planned.

Still we are grateful for our freedom, rights, and privileges that this country allows us. We love our community and feel blessed to have avoided a lot of the problems this recession has brought. We do appreciate those who have risked so much to give this country freedom and protection. It seems like it was easier to feel patriotic when everything was so defined. I guess it is easy to be Proud of something when you don't see any flaws.
Happy Presidents day to everyone.

Valentine Weekend Review

On Thursday we packed up and drove to Saint George for a few days. The drive was a little long and we did have to make a stop to give Max a bottle. We ended up getting detoured off of I-15 and taking a more scenic route through Minersville. We ended up at Tyler and Lindsey's for a little while - Tyler watched Max for us while we went to dinner alone. Then we got on the road again. When we arrived at our Best Western Curtis found this really cool Ice Cream vending machine. You make your selection then a lid opens up inside to show you a cooler full of ice cream bars - then a vacuum-type-grabber sucks the item of your choice up and drops it in the shoot for you. Pretty fancy for a best western. The next day Curtis had to work - so Tyler brought Kennedy and Tucker down to play with Max and me. We went to a really great park. Curtis picked me up after that - I'm a big believer of "food makes the trip" - so we went to the panama grill for lunch - We give it a 9. It is really spicy. I think my eyes sweated.
We did a little shopping at the outlets, mostly for Max. Then we found theses awesome chocolate covered strawberry's. One of my favorites - we got about 6 of them and had one a day for the next three days.
We have a tradition of going out to eat the day before Valentines day to avoid the rush so We went to Gun Barrel Stake and Game. We give it a 10.

Curtis was really wanting meat so I found this place and made reservations. We can't rave enough about the food there. That is truly the best stake I have ever had. The Decor - Well... it wouldn't be my choice.
We came home on Valentines day but all three of us ended up with a cold so we let the actual Valentines day pass us by. We figured we had spoiled our selves enough.
We ended up at my parents house for a few hours that night - then off to Walgreen's for some vicks and other cold med's.
Sunday, Christie had made a feast for Valentines/presidents day. It was really good- Thanks Grandma Cookie.

Cousins

This is Max and Tucker. Tucker is only 4 month older than Max. Look at all that hair.

Here is the 4 out of 7 Finch grand kids. The other three are living in Australia. I got to babysit Tucker, Bailey and Kennedy last weekend. We had so much fun together. Bailey and Kennedy even got to watch a movie and eat pop corn in bed. Tucker and max had a slumber party together. It was fun to hear them over the monitor.
Chai is missing Sadie. She has looked all over for her and we heard her cry last night.
Thanks for spending time with us. we love you.

Little Bear

He is too cute. He was extra snugly in this little bear warmer. I love it when he snuggles.

A new friend

Meet Sadie. She is staying with us this weekend. She and Chai are still not the best of friends but they sure ware each other out. I did a little experiment with them yesterday. I would be petting Sadie and Chai would come up to me and put her paw on me. If I was just petting Chai then Sadie would try to jump in Chai's face to get her to back away. Latter that night Chai "snuck" into sadie's house and stole her play toy. She kept running by saide to get her to chase her but Sadie didn't care as long as she was the one being petted.
Sadie is Tyler and Lindsey's dog. She is a mixed pug and so cute. Curtis wants to keep her. She is a total lap dog - if you sit down she will climb into your lap and just lay there. She has been a lot of fun.
