Tears for Lindsay

Today was a hard day. Curtis's cousin was killed in an accident last weekend. Today we attended the funeral. Derek Johns was 24. We received a phone call early on Saturday morning letting us know he had passed away. I laid in bed for 3 hours hurting for his wife. Derek and Lindsay were married last year. Derek was easy to love and he had a genuine interest in everyone. He LOVED his wife. I can't put into words how much he loved her.
Today I watched her smile for hours as people came through the viewing, most of them sobbing. She shared comfort with her mother-in-law. She gave reassuring smiles to speakers and those participating in musical numbers. She was thoughtful about everyone.
I cried for 2 hours. The family prayer was beautiful. Each speaker rose up to the challenge of speaking about their best friend, brother, grandson and son. I have never attended such a moving service.
I am blessed to have known him. I hope the love of Christ will give strength to this family. Lindsay, you are in my prayers. We love you.

Maintenance

At first I was seeing this symbol in bright lights on my dashboard (tire pressure). This light came on two weeks after we bought it. We took it in to have it looked at and we were told the tire pressure was fine and we just need to get the light reset. We procrastinated and I have been driving around with it on for about a year and a half.
Issac was picked up early so I decided to take my jeep to get the care it needed. I filled it up with gas, had it fully serviced at the oil change, replaced all 4 tires and had the light reset.

Now I am seeing this light.
I think I'll act a little quicker for this one.

Sleepy sleepy

Sometimes I wonder if he wants to sleep with his legs in the bars or if he just wants his head to face east.

Busy life

I work for Heritage Makers. I have been working there for 8 months. I have really loved my job and especially the people I work with. Maybe it is the business line but they are all so...Tender? Well any way - I am going to start working a new shift this week. I will go in at 7am and get off at 2:30. I am really hoping I can get up early and get Max off to grandmas. Another new thing this week is I have picked up a Friday shift. Angie was a sweetheart and will be watching Max for me. Now the boys get to spend 3 days together. Isaac plays at our house on Mondays and Wednesdays. I will miss Max and our time together but this is WAY better than working full time and I get off early enough we still get some quality time. One day maybe we will be able to spend everyday together.

Yippy photography

Tonight was my second photo class. I had so much fun. We learned about ISO, Aperture, time, exposure, filters and balance. Believe it or not...I worked all the settings on my camera to get this shot -no flash in a dim lit, no windows, bomb shelter classroom. Go ahead and be proud mom. I love school. I really like my teacher too. He is so passionate about photography and knows a lot of history about cameras, film, lenses - pretty much everything. The two hours fly by and I get really excited and can't sleep when I get home (hence this post). I wish the class was twice a week. He even takes time to go over point and shoot camera's.

Let me see your Tootsie Roll

Curtis is Starting a new job as the Business Manager Assistant under the Tootsie Roll and Charms account. We are very excited about his new job. If we get as much of a kick back as we did with the cheese...we may need to make our dentist appointments more often...and start an exercise plan. What is your favorite from the Tootsie Family?
We have all chosen our favorite and I have a prize for anyone who can guess who likes what. I'm sure you would like a hint...Max's is a sucker (guess the flavor)...Curtis and I like the more mature candy.
Good Luck!

I'm so sad no one took the challenge. I don't know what I'll do with the over sized tootsie roll prize. Here are the answers: Curtis likes Andes, I like Jr. mints and Max loves the caramel apple suckers.

The Cheese Stands Alone

Curtis has been a Manager of the Foreign cheese team for Albertsons/Acosta/Anco in Utah, Wyoming, Montana and Idaho for the last few years. Next week will be his last week with the team. We will miss our terribly discounted parm, smoked gouda, munster, jarlsberg and so much more. We have had a few cheese parties with games such as "What Cheese stinks" and tast tests -but the time has come to move on. Who knows...maybe Hot dogs are next.
