Yippy photography

Tonight was my second photo class. I had so much fun. We learned about ISO, Aperture, time, exposure, filters and balance. Believe it or not...I worked all the settings on my camera to get this shot -no flash in a dim lit, no windows, bomb shelter classroom. Go ahead and be proud mom. I love school. I really like my teacher too. He is so passionate about photography and knows a lot of history about cameras, film, lenses - pretty much everything. The two hours fly by and I get really excited and can't sleep when I get home (hence this post). I wish the class was twice a week. He even takes time to go over point and shoot camera's.

Let me see your Tootsie Roll

Curtis is Starting a new job as the Business Manager Assistant under the Tootsie Roll and Charms account. We are very excited about his new job. If we get as much of a kick back as we did with the cheese...we may need to make our dentist appointments more often...and start an exercise plan. What is your favorite from the Tootsie Family?
We have all chosen our favorite and I have a prize for anyone who can guess who likes what. I'm sure you would like a hint...Max's is a sucker (guess the flavor)...Curtis and I like the more mature candy.
Good Luck!

I'm so sad no one took the challenge. I don't know what I'll do with the over sized tootsie roll prize. Here are the answers: Curtis likes Andes, I like Jr. mints and Max loves the caramel apple suckers.

The Cheese Stands Alone

Curtis has been a Manager of the Foreign cheese team for Albertsons/Acosta/Anco in Utah, Wyoming, Montana and Idaho for the last few years. Next week will be his last week with the team. We will miss our terribly discounted parm, smoked gouda, munster, jarlsberg and so much more. We have had a few cheese parties with games such as "What Cheese stinks" and tast tests -but the time has come to move on. Who knows...maybe Hot dogs are next.

Almost famous

Today I got on my blog and found 5 comments! It's not even my birthday. I love comments.
I have set up a link to my photo blog from this blog so those who want to view it don't have to look for my last post about it.
I started my photography class tonight. I love it. We are going to learn some really neat things.
I am feeling inspired to go back to school...real school. I talked with my teacher (he teaches for UVU) and he gave me some great tips on going back to collage. I felt really motivated. I visited UVU about two weeks ago and talked with a counselor. We'll see how it all goes over the next month. If things go well I will start summer semester.
Wish me luck.

Home Sweet Home

We made it home today! I can't tell you how much I love coming home from vacations. I like to get all of the laundry going as soon as we walk through the door and get all of the luggage put away. I started digging for food right away too. Because we don't shop on Sunday...We ended up with Navajo taco's. Well....Chili and scones with sour cream.
Strange as it would seem, I did have all the ingredients to make a lemon Meringue pie. Both grand parents stopped by to hug Max. Kevin and Kenton came too. We are so happy to be home.

on our way

We started our trip back home today. We made it as far as Boise. I promised Curtis we could stop at Stans. This is his dinner.
I guess if you order "the works" the hot dog wont fit in your mouth.

Max gave the hot dog maker a tip. The employee gave Max a free ice cream.

He ate it at first but when he found out we had fries - well...he moved on.

We were tired of being in the car so we took a swim, popped pop corn and watched Oceans 13.
Another fun vacation.

Portland

Our last day in Portland was a rainy one.

When Curtis was done with work, we headed to town. Due to our love of the travel channel, we decided to go to Voodoo Doughnuts. We saw it on Man vs. food.
Turns out...its just a dougnut. Curtis ordered the Voodoo doughnut. It was rasberry filled shaped like a voodoo doll and had a pretzle stuck in the white iceing hart. I had a maple covered bavarian cream filled someting. It had a creapy name but I can't remember it.
It was still raining but we had paid $6 for parking so we thought we should get our money's worth. After passing through china town and a few adult shops...we decded we were in the wrong part of town to be walking around after dark. We decided it would be the perfect night to be in our hotel watching a movie. Our GPS said it would be a 20 minute drive back to our hotel but with the trafic, it took us almost an hour.

This pizza delivery bike is the
coolest thing we saw on our little walk through portland.
