Double down chicken sandwich

Curtis has been hinting (not so lightly) that he would like to try the double down chicken sandwich from KFC. He went to KFC with a group of coworkers but was a little unsure of ordering the no bun sandwich. A few days latter, the same group returned to KFC and Curtis finally gathered enough courage to order the double cheese double bacon smashed between two pieces of chicken. Turns out he loved it. He loved it so much he asked me to blog about it.

Beauty

My dad took this picture around Christmas time. My dad is amazing.

Feeling Low

So...I'm feeling like life has come to a stand still. Our life has become routine to a fault. The dream of ever being a stay at home mom is slipping through my fingers. I almost feel like I could deal with it better if I just resign to the idea that I will always be working. Curtis does try hard to at least let me be a part time mommy. I am thankful to have that. I know most girls my age have a little one at home and they are working too. Will we ever have a happy ending and get to be the mom we want to be?

Final day of Easter Weekend

Happy Easter to everyone! Max woke up at 6:15 this morning. I think he knew today was a big day. We decided not to fight him on it and brought him down stairs to his basket.
We had a very relaxed day watching conference. Isaac came over for a few hours and both boys were asleep before the first session had ended.
Right before the second session ended, we headed over to Lee and Faye's for the Ryan hunt. All of the kids (and a few adults) left looking like they had robbed a candy store.
Max crashed on the way home. We tried to revive him but he must have really warn himself out. I'm ready for bed myself.
Happy Easter!

Cowan's Easter egg hunt

We were honored to be invited to the Cowan family Easter egg hunt today. The Cowan hunt came only an hour after the Smith's hunt (see "Smith's egg hunt post). Max was restless to get started on this one too. Lucky for us there were about 30 little kids in the 0-3 group this time.
It was my turn to help Max with his hunt. Curtis had us on the front row when the whistle blew. I ran Max to the far corner and "helped" him find a few eggs. The Cowan's are clever and had real hard boiled eggs on the field. I avoided these and was happy Max didn't try to pick them up. Eggs make me gag a little.

Max filled his basket half full and we got ready to go home. As we were leaving, the Cowan's had set up a table with little toys and treats at the exit for everyone who came to the hunt. We sure love the Cowan family. Thank you for inviting us.

Smith's egg hunt

Smith's grocery store in Payson had a fun little Easter egg hunt and breakfast for kids today. Of course we took Max - cause even though we have been training at home, we want to make sure he gets a trial run before the Big Easter Egg hunt at Great Grandma's.
Max did cry a little because we arrived too early and they already had the candy out.
When they finally blew the whistle, Max just wanted to run over all the candy. He would rather play in it than take it home.

There were only about 5-7 other kids in an isle almost covered in candy. When Max's basket was about 1/3 full we decided that would be plenty. One of the employee's said that was not enough and filled his basket full, almost overflowing. When we left they weighed his basket at 4.5lbs.

Easters

Curtis has gone wild! Look at all of this delicious junk food!
Does your spouse bring home flats of pringles?
Or boxes of candy bars and gummies?

ok...This is the stuff I love - the Andes, Jr mints and cherry chocolates. The hard stuff!
Our Easter stash has moved from a few chairs to a box. Get a good look Ryan family, this is what you'll be hunting at grandma's on Easter.
