what we're up to

We have been happily busy lately.

CURTIS

Curtis loves his new job. He brings home a lot of samples so we have candy filling our food storage shelf's. When the other distributers put out their samples, hes good to snatch a few of those too. He recently brought home about years worth of lotion, shampoo, conditioner and a few bottles of gel and face scrub. Who doesn't love free? Of course the down side of the job is the commute. He leaves before 7am and gets home around 6pm depending on traffic.
Curtis is also a part of the Elders presidency in our ward. He is gone to meetings on Thursday nights and Sunday mornings. He has made some really good friendships with the rest of the presidency and we have even gone on a few double dates with them.

COLLETTE
I'm still at Heritage Makers. I have added Fridays to my schedule so now I'm there 3 days a week 7-2:30. I too love my job. I work in customer support so I help clients and consultants with any questions they have regarding our program, pay incentives or up coming events. Heritage makers has become my hobby. I've been sucked in. About a year ago I was in one of their focus groups and I told them there is no way I would pay their prices. So far I have published at least 10 books 5 canvases and a whole lot of cards. I have a lot of projects I have completed but have never printed...It is still a bit expensive for me to do all I want.
On my days off, I get to watch Isaac. I have him until a little before 5:30. I love these days. I get so much done and I get to snuggle and play with the boys. The diapers are the downfall but that will come to an end soon enough.
I have signed up for another Digital camera class. This one is held at Maple Mountain High. I really like the classes and they have me all excited about taking pictures. My class is on Tuesday nights and my friend from work, Brit, she is taking it with me.
A new thing in my life ... I'm now a beehive adviser. I have been the young woman's sports director for our ward so I already have a great relationship with the girls. We have really awesome girls. I hope they don't find out I'm no that cool. Lets keep that a secret.

MAX
Max has the life. Mondays and Wednesdays he gets to hang out with is cousin Isaac. Max loves it! He gets so excited every time he sees Isaac. We have a good schedule down for those days. Max is usually up before 7 and Isaac gets here around 7:30ish. They boys play and chase around until 9 when Isaac gets tired. Max gets sleepy around 11:00. They are both playing again by 1 then Isaac gets sleepy again around 3. Between snacks and tormenting the dog, they sure have a lot of fun.
Tuesdays he plays with Grandma Kizzy. They do all kinds of fun stuff like making cookies, doing laundry, playing cars...you know, the good stuff.
Thursdays Max spends time with Grandma Finch. He loves to go outside and play in the yard. He has one favorite toy at grandmas. It is a transformer car. It goes from a yellow sedan to a cobra.
Fridays he gets to go to Isaac's stomping ground. Like I said, he loves Isaac. They get to go on walks and play with all of Isaac's toys. For some reason they love his bouncer (it has a lot of bells and whistles).
Max has just started visiting nursery. We are finding we need to work on a lot of things.

Saturdays we are a family again. We are always looking for something fun to do as a family. Last week we went to see Uncle Kenton at Snow Collage. Kevin was on a date so we'll let him off the hook.
Our weekends are always too short - or maybe Mondays come too fast.

Well...now you know. This is what is going on in our life.

One day we'll all grow up.

In January I had an Idea to take a picture of Max with a New years hat and his little tux on. It ended up being our main blog picture for January.

February I had an Idea to make some fun Valentines cards for our family with Max as Cupid. One of those pictures became our main blog picture for February.

We've decided to go with the trend and took Max to get some Saint Patrick's Day Pictures.

We've been told one day he will hate us for the February picture...But we have a while until we all grow up so...

For this year, Max will be our little Holiday guy.
ENJOY!

Sicky

I took Max to the Dr. on Friday because his cough came back. Max has had a cough for most of the winter. The first time I took him in we were treating him for seasonal allergies. That was about a month ago. He got better for about 2 weeks. Last Saturday it came back. This time he had a runny nose and a little fever. I was hopping he would get better but he was still sick at the end of the week. This time the Dr. told me he is in the early stages of RSV. We have doubled his medicine. Max refuses to wear the mask for his treatments but he thinks it is really funny when he puts it on his stuffed animals.
From what I've read about RSV, he is going to be contagious for 3-5 days. He should be over most of the symtoms after a week but the virus will stay in his lungs for 6-8 weeks.
I can't wait for summer. This winter has been tough on him.

Wild Goose Chase

This morning we headed down to Delta. Curtis was entered into a 5k with his Uncle, cousin and neighbor. The race was titled "Wild goose chase". The snow geese are migrating through the area at this time of the year and Delta holds a weekend festival to celebrate.

Aunt Lisa and I stayed by the finish line to watch the boys come through.
Brandon was the first we saw finishing 2ond in is group.

Rhett came hot on Brandon's heals. He placed 3rd in his group.

Troy rounded the corner a few minutes later. He also placed 2ond in his group.

Curtis came next, not too far behind. He placed 2ond in his group.

I really think this is a clever title.

This is Curtis's award and medal. They totally misspelled his and Rhett's name.

They all had a good run and have reason to be proud. We have been invited to join the group again in St.George next month for another run.

I've been thinking

The weather is warming up and I would really like to start getting out of the house. Isaac, Max and I spend 10 hours together on Mondays and Wednesdays. I can get a little stir crazy. I would like to start going on some inexpensive field trips. I do have a double stroller but I'm looking for places that would be fun for them. Do you have any idea's? Isaac will be 1 in May and Max is only 7 months older. I wish we had a children's museum.

Valentine Weekend

We kicked off our Valentine Giving early. We sent out a few Valentine cards of Cupid Max to our family. He hated the wings and ripped off a few of the bottom feathers just trying to get away. Looking back through the photo's we ended up using most of his angry pictures on the card. He was so dramatic.
I made Curtis a book with all of our honeymoon pictures. I thought it turned out great. It arrived at our house over a week early and I couldn't wait to give it to him.
Curtis found a gift for me that made me cry. I sure love him.
For Max,Curtis donated to muscular dystrophy and got a valentine balloon bouquet. I picked him up a set of matchbox cars.
For our "Valentine date" we went bowling and Curtis made me chicken fried stake with potatoes. Yes, he made it in our kitchen while Max and I watched the Olympics short track. Our eyes were bigger than our stomach. Max ate most of my potatoes while I tried to figure out how I could get all that yummy food to fit in my full stomach. Chai, our dog, reaped the benefits in the end. Later, I plan on eating Ben and Jerry's ice cream while watching a chick flick to end a perfect day.
We wish you all a happy valentines day/Weekend.
