Stop growing

Don't be fooled by this baby face.

This little guy is almost all grown up.

Max will be turning 1 in a week. I have loved having a baby in our family and even though I have been sad to see each stage of infancy end, I have loved to watch him grow. I just don't want him to grow any more for another month or so. He is learning how to walk and just took his first steps on his own last week. (Luck for him, he did not do it around me). I just want him to be my baby a little bit longer.

Early Birthday Bash

We started celibrating Max's birthday a week early. We went to Pirate Pizza with his aunt Angie, Kari, uncle Jerry and Ben (Ben and Jerry...huh. I never noticed that.) and cousin Issac

We had a great time

and a GREAT pizza!
Max even had the pirate birthday song sang to him by a bunch of mates.

Isaac even got a piece of the action.

Max really liked the ice cream. So much he would grip the bowl.

Two thumbs way up for Pirate Island!

Latest project

This is my latest project. I am making Max's first year scrap book. I am going digital through Heritage makers. I am almost finished. I will be honest, this is my second try with this book. I have a bad habit of redoing scrapbooks. It has been really fun to look back over the past year. Our little guy turns 1 in a week and a half. I can't believe how big he is.

Who do you love?

Bailey is my oldest nephew. He has such a big heart. Not only is he one of the sweetest boys on earth but he is 100% handsome.
Miss Livie Is My oldest niece. She has moved to Australia and has a cute Aussie accent. She is one smart cookie.
Rex has my heart. You don't know how hard I've tried to become his friend. This guy is such a comic. Another great nephew.
Miss Kennedy comes next. She is so easy to love. She simply looks at you with those big brown eyes and I melt.
Lucy loves her mommy. She had just started to open up to me when she moved with her family. She is a go getter. If she puts her mind to anything, she'll get it.
Tucker is new to the family and fits in perfect. He is a quick mover and plays hard. He has not found a need for me yet but I'm sure our friendship will grow.
This is little Isaac. He is my latest nephew. He is only 3 months old and spends 2 days a week with me and Max. I love his smile... and I must confess, I really like his face when Max gets too close to him.

Party

Monday night we celebrated Curt's Birthday. We had some friends and family over for a little "wine" and cheese.
We had a great time preparing for the event. Curtis ordered his cheese a month in advance and we picked up a new drink almost every time we went to the store.
25 people came to help us calibrate Curtis. Tyler and Lindsey sent me into shock when they turned up at our door. We had no idea they were making the trip, just for Curtis.
All English cheese was served with fruit, vanilla wafers and club crackers. We had over 20 wine classes rounded up for every one.
Curtis chose Devils food cake and chocolate frosting for his cake with Mint chocolate chip Ice cream. We forgot about the cake until half of our company had already left. If any one wants some cake and ice cream...come on over!

Thank you everyone for being so supportive of our little calibration. We had a lot of fun and hope you did too. Everyone who could not make it, next year we will be doing it all over again.

Labor Day Weekend

Labor day weekend was full of events. Sorry the pic's are all out of order. Friday we went to the carnival. Max and Isaac went on the carousel. We ate hamburgers in the park and found Chad, Jessica and Lexi. Chad and Curtis took Max and Lexi down the big slide. I was talking to Jessica so I forgot to take a picture until they were at the bottom. After all the tickets were gone, we went to Debbie's to watch the fireworks.
Saturday, we ate scones in the park and watched the childrens parade. The parade lasted 5 minutes. We went to the open house a the fire station so max could play in some fire trucks.
We did make it to the Finch Family reunion for a few hours. We enjoyed a meal with Reed, Lori, Bruce, Heather, Paisley and Grandma and Grandpa. Grandpa talked about his family and we all enjoyed being with him. He did give Curtis a shout out from the microphone.
Sunday we had the annual Ryan Dutch oven cook off. Curtis took First place in the Dessert category. This was the last year for voting and prizes. We skipped the band concert because we were too tired to fight the crowds.
Monday we ate breakfast at the park and watched the onion days parade. Max danced when the marching bands passed. He is so cute! We had a BBQ at the Stevens after the parade - Great Hamburgers Jim! We went to visited Grandma and Grandpa Finch again but they were having a nap so we got to visit with My dad, Uncle Bruce and my grandpa's brother David. To end the Holiday Weekend, we stopped in to spend some time with my mom. She and Max played a marble game while Curtis and I took a brake.
I love holiday weekends!
And thank you for all of your suggestions.

Help!

I am in need of a major make over! I feel like I've looked the same since 4th grade. I've felt especially "frumpy" lately. Any Ideas?

Say up with the SHS

Friday night we headed to the Springville high football field. Max loved it!
(until it was past bed time)
We went with Angie, Jerry, Isaac and Grandma and Grandpa Finch.

Springville beat Lehi 40 to 3. It was the fist time I had been back to a game in 10 years. I still knew a hand full of people at the game. We liked it so much, we are making plans to go again.
